John Auger

Background

John Augur was one of the pirates who took the Kings Pardon (1718) given out by Woodes Rogers to the residents of Nassau in the Bahamas. However, like many of his friends he would soon revert back to piracy until he was captured by ex-pirate turned pirate hunter named Benjamin Hornigold. He was brought back to Nassau where he was hung for piracy on the island of New Providence.
